Nimo x PINGA, Brazil
Collaborations
Pinga, The Sovereign Space
PINGA is not a traditional retailer. The concept launched in November 2017 in São Paulo’s Jardins district before expanding to Rio de Janeiro, where it now operates in the exclusive Shopping Leblon. From the beginning, it deliberately bypassed the mechanics of conventional luxury wholesale. The architecture of their success relies on hyper-authorship and a gallery grid. Roughly 90 percent of the portfolio consists of independent, local brands operating in an autonomic aesthetic sphere outside the mainstream—prioritizing hyper-local slow fashion and structural craftsmanship. Rather than relying on rigid, predictable retail floors, the store functions through cyclical curation. It operates as an incubator for progressive design talents, granting them a market entry that is usually financially blocked by classic retail cartels. PINGA does not merely sell garments; it archives the visual codex of modern Brazil.
Nimo x Pinga – The Synergy
The Making
For Nimo With Love, this partnership is an organic alignment, built from day one. PINGA has carried the brand’s collections since its inception. It is a synergy rooted in shared values: Nimo does not enter an anonymous sales floor, but rather an intellectualized ecosystem led by two curators who treat textile art as a cultural currency. Within the Brazilian fashion landscape, a presence at PINGA is the ultimate aesthetic validation.
The Curatorial Tribe
Behind the sovereign space of PINGA stands a collective energy, anchored by a duo that masterfully operates at the intersection of structural power and genuine community: Catharina Tamborindeguy Johannpeter and Gabriella Paschoal.
Catharina Tamborindeguy Johannpeter provides the cosmopolitan lens and an almost institutional network. As the daughter of the iconic Carioca socialite Narcisa Tamborindeguy and descendant of the Johannpeter steel dynasty, her cultural and economic capital is deeply rooted in Brazil’s architecture of influence. After studying international relations in London, she translated this unique access into a strategic asset. Her background does not just open doors; it secures global relevance and fuels the tight-knit network of designers and creatives that define the space.
Gabriella Paschoal delivers the analytical and curatorial substance. Her trajectory runs through the marketing machinery of the acclaimed Brazilian label Cris Barros and deep into the contemporary art scene via her work with the international gallery Mendes Wood DM. Paschoal effectively transposes the intellectual mechanics of the art market onto high-fashion retail. This hybrid approach removes fashion from the volatile cycle of mere trends, transforming the store into a vibrant incubator where a whole community of creators co-exists. Together, they do not manage a store; they institutionalize a movement.
The Making of NIMO x PINGA
All starts with color
Visit my studio. It is an archive of color, flowers, and collected treasures from around the world. This is where the visual journey of each collection begins.
The Inspiratoin
Brazil itself is the catalyst for this edit. The exotic flora discovered during my last trip inspired the specific scale and depth of these embroideries.
The Embroidery
We develop each embroidery from scratch, engineering individual patterns for every style. The motifs are structurally mapped to complement the specific silhouette.
The Finishing
When an edit like this drops, months of meticulous preparation lie behind us. The process spans from the initial design to,hand-drawn invitations for our launch in Rio.
